Participants break into selected Track groups. All tracks will follow the same workshop format.
  • Track 1: Ob/Gyn Point-of-Care Procedures: Alfred Abuhamad, MD
  • Track 2: Ultrasound-Guided Procedures (e.g., MSK, Anesthesia, Line Placement): Jay Smith, MD
  • Track 3: Emergency/Critical Care Point-of-Care Procedures: Christopher Moore, MD

Workshop 1: Performance and Training/Qualifications Guidelines Development
  • Identify and prioritize procedures for collaborative guideline development.
  • Representatives from each group will identify specific procedures of interest to their members and develop proposed performance and training/qualification guidelines for each. Presentations may last up to 5 minutes and may include PowerPoints.

  • Groups reconvene for continued discussions and summary of deliberations for presentation.
12:00 pm–1:30 pm
Lunch & Learn: Joshua Copel, MD, AIUM Immediate Past President
  • Dr Copel will provide opening remarks to stimulate lunchtime table discussion on the future of point-of-care ultrasound applications and the need for education and training, credentialing, and accreditation.
1:30 pm–2:45 pm
Workshop 2: Collaboration
  • From each group, identify representatives to participate in multiorganizational collaborative guideline development work groups. Groups will have an opportunity to initiate guideline drafts as well as develop a long range plan for after the Forum.
2:45 pm–3:00 pm
